Reading Week

With the stress of school off my shoulders for reading week, I thought that this would be the perfect opportunity to make a post. Things are going relatively well and I find myself actually enjoying what I'm learning, which is something I am not very familiar with.  I also find myself watching a lot of Grey's Anatomy to my grades peril. It has me wondering what I'm going to do when I graduate. Will I go into research, do a masters, go to med school... (probably not the last one)? It's one of those things I've never understood, how people know exactly what they want to do. The only thing that I do know is that I want to help people and really have a positive impact on someone's life.
In other news, I got a little pet. She's a cute tiny hamster who keeps me up at night running on her wheel and chewing anything she can find. But overall, it's nice to have some company.
Anyway, that's enough of my procrastination, I should get back to work…

It's been a while

I was looking through my computer and stumbled upon this blog that was active long ago. Looking through some of my old posts I realized how much I have changed over the years. Since my last post, I have successfully completed two years of university, made some great friends (even a boyfriend), and have learned a lot (not just about NMRs and antibiotic resistance). So here are 3 things I have learned in the past couple years:

1. Pushing yourself out of your comfort zone is the only way you'll grow. Through most of high school, I was very shy and only had a couple of good friends. I struggled with talking to new people and was always worried about what they thought of me. When I started university though I used it as a way of starting fresh and becoming a better version of myself. I'm not saying it's easy but it is definitely worth it.

2. Its okay to fail sometimes. First year actually wasn't too bad for me but when second year came around I spread myself too thin and di…

Summer

Where has the summer gone? It feels like I've just finished my last exams of the school year and now I'm back to textbooks, chalkboards and a bunch of homework. I feel like every summer I plan to do something epic but mostly end up getting lazy and sleeping all day when I'm not watching netflix. This summer was mostly occupied by my summer job as a day camp counselor and it was honestly so much fun (the few headaches due to the noise were pretty much the worst of it) i still did a few things and i thought i'd share some of the pictures :

forest walks
 trips to the lake
the yummy food  hiking waterfalls center island
Well... time to bring out the pumpkins, tea and candles. What did you guys do this summer?  Thanks for reading :)

Lasting Finish matte lipsticks by Kate Moss

I am absolutely in love with this lipstick. Let's start off with the fact that its super long lasting. I can actually still see it on my wrist from when I did swatches.  Like many other matte lip products it can be a bit drying, especially the dark red, but its nothing a little lip balm can't fix. Also, it is so pigmented, there is no need for more than 2 coats. It comes in loads of different shades and do not even get me started on how good these smell.
The dark red one is shade 107. Sadly they don't have names, only numbers. It is quite hard to wear since it's a bit out of my comfort zone but I still absolutely love it and if you're in the market for a new red I highly suggest this one.       The next one is a coral in shade 32 and I think it would be amazing for summer. A little tip, if you want to go for a more natural look put some lip balm under it, then apply a little bit of the lipstick and then finish it off with another layer of lip balm. P…

Liebser Blog Award

A Liebster Blog Award
A while ago I got nominated for this award by the amazing Little Robin from http://littleteensblog.blogspot.com.au/. I want to thank you one more for nominating me.
Now onto the actual part; answering the questions.
What is your favourite memory? My favorite memory is probably going to summer camp when I was little. I loved being outside in the forest and the arts and crafts were amazing. What is the weirdest thing you have ever done? I've done a lot of weird things so it's really hard to pinpoint one... What is your favourite Disney movie/character and why? When i was little my favorite movie was snow white. I cried every time she ate the apple and whenever someone asked me what my name was i would say snow white. When i got a little older i fell in love with the little mermaid and forced my sister to watch it with me at least 20 times and now my favorite would probably be Beauty and the Beast. You can never be too old for Disney. Dresses/skirts or pants…

Walking

I have never been the type of person who goes to the gym, so staying fit can be a challenge, but one thing most people don't really think about is that running on a treadmill and doing squats aren't the only ways to be healthy. Even something as simple as taking a walk can make a difference.
Personally I absolutely love walking, especially since I have a little furry monster ( my dog) to keep me entertained. Also, I noticed that I see some of the most beautiful things while on my walks that I would have missed out on if I was inside sleeping or watching netflix. So try new things see new places and most importantly eat some chocolate cake to reward yourself for being healthy ( just kidding, i always look for excuses to eat chocolate cake)

Nails inc. London
Feathers- Brighton

For the past while when visiting sephora and shoppers I have seen this nail polish and have been attracted to it. Let start off withe the packaging. It is so cute! On the lid there is a bird in the colours of the nail polish and white feathers in the background. Speaking of feathers how creative is that. That's what I love about nails inc they have a bunch of creative nail polishes like sprinkles and leather effects.  There were a few flaws with the nail polish but if done right they could be so nice. One thing about them is that they are really messy. Since these are just really long peices of glitter made to look like feathers they stick out at the edges a bit. It's an easy fix but it takes a bit of patience. Also I recommend that you do a base colour instead of just layering it up on your nails because like any other glitter polish some places will be more sparse than others. In the picture above I layered it on top of Essie mint candy a…
